Deacons

The duties belonging to the office of deacon consist of continuing in prayer and supervising the works of Christian mercy among the congregation; acquainting themselves with congregational needs; exhorting members of the congregation to show mercy; gathering and managing the offerings of God's people in Christ's name, and distributing these offerings according to need; and encouraging and comforting with the Word of God those who receive the gifts of Christ's mercy. Needs of those outside the congregation, especially of other believers, should also be considered as resources permit. The deacons shall ordinarily meet every month to transact the business pertaining to their office, and they shall render an account of their work to the Consistory.

  • Graydon dill

Graydon and his wife Erin were married in 2009. They have three daughters - all born in Vista. He works as the program director for a local habitat restoration company based in Oceanside where he enjoys getting to improve the local habitat of the many different and beautiful southern California vegetation communities. He loves to take his girls on hikes teaching them about the local plants, sailing in the Oceanside harbor, and to Padres games throughout the summer. The Dills have lived in North County San Diego since 2012 and, after worshipping at a different church, couldn't be happier to have finally found a church home so committed to the faithful preaching of Christ's Gospel. Graydon was saved in college through the witness of faithful friends and he and his family have been a part of the OURC family since 2019.
